Warren
Salter
Warren is a full time professional artist, a painter with a prolific exhibiting and commissioning history of thirty five years.
Born in Smithton Tasmania in 1958 Warren was a natural born artist from birth.
His true formative training he says was borne out of an obsession with painting and drawing prolifically from his earliest childhood memories, leading him into an intimate lifetime relationship with the mystery that is art.
High school years saw the beginnings of entrepreneurship where his daily and nightly musings and creations were sought after and sold to fellow students and their parents.
College years fortuitously saw Warren under the tutelage of the late great Tasmanian painter Geoff Dyer, a maverick more than a teacher. Geoff would take groups of selected students under his wing with encouragement, critique and trips interstate to view masters such as Boyd, Streeton, Olsen, Picasso and others being exhibited at various interstate galleries. This all had a very vindicating and galvanising effect on the young Warren, and cemented his inner and outer identity as an artist for life.
A full time professional commissioning and exhibiting artist for now thirty five years, Warren has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and overseas and exhibits and sells directly to his clients at his newly established studio gallery at Burleigh Heads in sunny Queensland Australia.
Warren is also represented by a select few interstate and local retail galleries.
